Getting your Nudl in a twist trying to figure out what you need to know about grant funding?
Never fear, Growth Consultant, Zara is here to share her five top tips to strengthening your business’s application…
Before you apply for a grant, you need to take some time to think about what your business goals are and what you are going to need over the next 12 months. Could the grant be used for…
- Hiring new staff members?
- Expanding the premises?
- Working on a new project?
Have a good think about what you are wanting to achieve, as multiple activities can be included in one application to help save time.
Create a shopping list
You will need to plan out the things that you are going to purchase or invest in, along with the date you are going to do this by. This will help you to set out your aims and objectives to enable an achievable timescale.
Get some quotes together from suppliers
Once you know what you want to get, you need to know how much it will cost. Gathering costs will enable you to know exactly how much each project will set you back, and you’ll also be able to shop around for the best price, avoiding any expensive surprises when it’s too late.
Don’t spend a penny
What we mean by this is, until you’ve received your grant offer, don’t spend anything! Most funding won’t be backdated, so it’s crucial that you only spend once the grant has been approved.
