A good place to start is with the North East Growth Hub, which, at the time of writing, had a whopping 75 options for funding on its website.
Obviously, not all of these will be relevant to your business – and you may not even be eligible – so that’s where the Nudls would come in. After all, we’re the experts!
Next up is the NBSL, which covers County Durham, Tyne and Wear and Northumberland and offers a variety of support services.
For example, if you’re in Tyne and Wear, North East Business Support Fund grants are worth up to 35 per cent of projects costing between £3,000 and £8,000 and can be used towards a wide range of services.
An innovator? The Innovation Programme for North East SMEs offers financial and practical support across a range of sectors, including up to 40 per cent funding for eligible projects.
Then there’s the North East Fund, a £120m investment programme available to SMEs across Durham, Northumberland and Tyne and Wear – and potentially even to those who have relocated here. It offers loans or equity investment, ranging from £20k to £1m+, so we’re not talking peanuts here.
