Well, not literally, but we are very excited to tell you that the Department for International Trade has an Internationalisation Fund, aimed at SME businesses that have significant potential to grow their international sales.

Subject to availability and eligibility, match-funded grants of between £1,000 and £9,000 will be available for future activity that helps the firm gain a foothold on foreign soil.

The money can be used on a variety of services, including market research, intellectual property advice, translation services or international social media.

However, applicants should be aware that, in order to secure a grant, they will be expected to fund a proportion of your costs themselves.

Exactly how much by varies according to where the business is based, but will be either 40 or 50 per cent of the total cost.
