Better uses its Nudl for better working

Better Brand Agency have invested c.£43,000 in refreshing the company’s studio kit –  but it has only cost them c.£16,000 thanks to funding secured by us at Nudl.

The brand experts have invested in updated studio equipment including laptop upgrades, new conferencing facilities and a powerful 3-D rendering PC.

Better Brand Agency, which was set up in 2008, knew the time was right to secure the new cutting-edge equipment to meet their new overseas clients’ needs.

Mark Easby, managing director, said: “We’re doing a lot more work outside of the region and we have some new clients in the US including cause-driven global challenger brands such as dropps, DYPER and One Ocean. They have sustainability at their heart.

“On the back of our strongest revenue to date last year, we’ve built on our momentum by welcoming a host of exciting new clients and continuing to evolve our brand building process.

“We’ve also introduced our new 3D modelling and rendering service for our direct to consumer clients, providing photo-realistic product and packaging imagery. 

The award-winning business, which employs eight members of staff, also wanted to improve its provision for flexible working by investing in laptops rather than computers. If a member of staff needs to work from home, for example, they can now use a laptop.

“It’s gone down really well with the team” added Mark.

“As we came out of lockdown, we transformed the way we are working with the business as well. Having the kit has helped us facilitate that, as well as helping improve the way we’re communicating with our national and international clients”

Mark turned to Nudl for financial assistance as we are a Teesside-based business which helps SMEs apply for and secure funding and grants.

“We worked with the team at Nudl and looked at what we wanted to invest in, our priorities and timelines,” said Mark.

“Nudl could help us with what funding was available. They explained the process to us and helped us with the application.

“The impact of the funding and the clarity around how it works was what we found really useful. They could tell us the timings and helped us pull the application together to make it realistic and to maximise potential funding.”

Around 55% of the investment was provided through funding secured by Nudl.

This meant that Mark and his team could move forward with their business plan quicker and more efficiently.

“We needed the funding to be able to make this investment now. It’s been crucial to supporting our growth plans for our business.”
